Antiques Roadshow Event

Delmonte-Smelson Diamond Store recently hosted its own version of the popular Antiques Roadshow, featuring, in our version, internationally known expert, Jeffrey P. Hess. Mr. Hess is the co-author with James M. Dowling of Rolex Wristwatches: An Unauthorized History, and with John E. Brozek of The Rolex Report: An Unauthorized Reference Book For The Rolex Enthusiast.

Our "Roadshow" event took place on April 26-29, 2004 in front of the Delmonte-Smelson Jewelry Store in the Rexcorp Plaza, Uniondale, NY. Mr. Hess and three associates made hundreds of evaluations and offers to buy on a wide range of items including jewelry, watches, fine art, coins, antiques, silverware, collectibles, and furniture. Jeff and his associates also made some interesting house calls as part of the Roadshow.

The event was a great success. Customers from all over Long Island and Manhattan were excited to have on-the-spot evaluations and offers to buy for their treasures. In many cases, they were able to turn their merchandise into cash on the spot, achieving instant satisfaction (and payment).
